Children and their families – of whatever diverse configurations – are an integral part of the worship and service life at Crossroads. Children are part of the worshiping congregation most Sunday mornings, beginning the morning in the worship service and then heading off to their Church School classes.
In Worship, children are active participants in the the worshiping community of Crossroads. They offer songs, act as ushers, greeters, and acolytes (candle lighters), and sometimes lead the whole service themselves! During the first part of regular worship services, they sit with Worship Mentors, adults who guide and encourage the young ones into being active participants in worship.
In their Church School classes, children are led by dedicated members of the congregation who teach the classes on a rotational basis. There are four classes on Sunday mornings: Nursery, Pre-K/Kindergarten, Elementary, and Teen. In addition, the Keiki Choir rehearses on Sunday mornings and frequently participates in the morning worship services.
